LEMAY, andré

André Lemay graduated from Institut des Arts Appliqués in interior design. He was first known as an industriel designer. He would create and make residential furniture during a few years. In 1972, he joins a company of office furniture design called ”Standard Desk”. He is then the director of design.
Drawing and creating have always been his passion, but beside that passion, he explores the world of pictural art. He creates his own singular and original style combining several mediums like water colour, pastel, charcoal, gouache, crayon and mixed media.
Inspired by the surrounding nature, his paintings relate to life passing by, the light in a winter garden, the movement of wind in the trees and the fragile and yet powerful beauty of life.
His paintings captivate by the boldnesss of the action as well as by the balance of style and movement.
For over ten years now, fully engaged in painting, André Lemay has chosen life in the country and now resides in Chénéville, a village in ”Petite Nation” territory in Outaouais.
