St\u00e9phane was initially discovered for his humour and characters portrayed on Quebec radio, but it was his one-man shows performed for more than 25 years across Qu\u00e9bec, in France and French-speaking Europe which earned him numerous awards (at Quebec\u2019s Gala de l\u2019ADISQ and Gala Les Olivier) and made him a true celebrity. His excellence and versatility were also recognized by people in the film and television industry, leading St\u00e9phane to appear in series, host talk shows, and act in several films, including Ast\u00e9rix aux Jeux Olympiques and Les Invasions Barbares (The Barbarian Invasions) (Oscar for the Best Foreign Language, C\u00e9sar for best film, and G\u00e9nie for best Canadian film), for which St\u00e9phane won the G\u00e9nie for best supporting actor.<br \/>\nEver since he was very young and up until today, St\u00e9phane draws constantly, every day, as soon as he wakes up. It is a visceral need. As a little boy, he was fascinated by mythological creatures which inspired him to create his own monsters, as he likes to call them. An admirer of the great masters such as Picasso (his favourite), Mir\u00f3, Dal\u00ed, and Basquiat, Haring, Warhol and Banksy to name a few, St\u00e9phane, who approaches his work joyfully but also very thoughtfully, uses the codes of surrealism and urban art to express the existential questions which preoccupy him.<br \/>\nIn his drawing and acrylics on canvas and wood, St\u00e9phane in fact delivers parts of himself, his fears and his misgivings. His phantasmagoric iconography brings to light his thoughts about life, sickness and death, love and sexuality, nature, travel and other human questions.
